Show Pictures of Libia Entertain Club Douglas Brown of Provo, recently re-cently returned from a government gov-ernment assignment in Libia, North Africa, gave a vivid picture of the people and living liv-ing conditions of the country through colored slides, at the Home Culture club meting Friday. Fri-day. Mrs. Earl Moss was hostess to the group, and the meeting was in charge of the presi- dent, Mrs. Waldo Jockson. Commenting on the pictures, Mr. Brown told how the women wo-men who do most of the work were considered inferior to the men; that the men ate first then the boys and finally if food was left the women and girls ate. Consequently young girls in the country died of malnutrition. He said water was scarce, health and sanitation, sani-tation, in which he worked, was practically unheard of and the temperatures often reached 130 degrees. Mrs. LeGrande Young, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Moss gave a vocal solo during the program pro-gram and lunch concluded the entertainment being served to 15 club members and special guests, Mr. and Mrs. Brown. The next meeting was announced an-nounced for October 23, to be at the home of Mrs. Jack Per-ham. |
