Show mil KINGS BILL liilie slate the public lands sn its borders be it enacted by the senate and house of representatives of united states of america in congress assem bled subject to all rights ln choate or perfected thereto including he water righta now belonging or to the united states all land a lying or bame in tha atao of utah with full and complete jurisdiction be and are hereby granted ceded and confirmed t said state the grunt hereby cottem plated to aard state being of all the arnda contained within its present boundaries and terri todal and the president of the united staica ahall issue letters patent lor the bame to ibe eald fatata fitata whenever and assaid state by an act of its legislature alcert lion oi the laccas aa lerein provided within tle time ber tafter this act dball in no affect aby or the lands held by the united for parks military or other public pur nor any india ada nor lanita held in trust for or for i by indiana provided anat aa noon as the title to any lands acu may le held by in diana or any 1 ddn which they eky have to the of any bands or indian ahall hava beao I 1 extinguished and the residue of said landa not obtained by alij indiana by allotment or shall revert to the united states the said lands averting shall be embraced within this net and pursuant to the cession hereby made ahall become the property 01 ol eaid state of utah sec 2 if at any time within tareo jeara from the passage of this act the legislature of the state ot utah ahall pass an act e the grant and cession of the public lands within such state as conteh plated by and provided herein and a certified copy of said act under the seal of the state of utah ahalt bo filed with the secretary of the interior then eaid grant and cession shall be complete and all eadd lands so granted end ceded by this act shall vest in the state of utah and tha president ot the united states shail thereupon iesue letters patent for the ame to the said state sec 3 that as eoon as practicable after the filing of said certified copy of said act ot the legislature it shall be the duty of the secretary of the interior at the expense of the united states to cause to be delivered to the proper of the state of utah the maps rt corde cooka and capeis or certified copies thereof in case it may be esary to reta n the originals in the general land office which may be necessary to said state for the proper control administration and disposition of oaid lands |
