Show The following interview from the Tribune does not indicate that Judge Johnson is lacking in confidence: con-fidence: "There is a strong sentiment in the south that it should have one of the chief justices. Probably that is one of the reasons why Judge Miner has withdrawn from the race. The Republicans in the southern counties will have strength enough in the convention to make their wishes respected. I have not canvassed any as yet, but I am confident con-fident of the solid support of my district. I have never been defeated de-feated for office since the voters .divided on party lines. Even when the Democrats carried the district T have received enough Democratic Democrat-ic votes to carry me through on the Republican ticket. The first time I was nominated for district judge I had eleven majority, while the Democrats w o n everything else." |
