Show pioneer jubilee parade special correspondence SALT LAKE may As work in the construction department progresses the magnitude of the plans for the five great parades becomes more apparent there will be over floats the greatest bumbar ever prepared cr anya celebration anywhere inthe united states been selected with the greatest caro and the result will be the most magnificent street pageantry and spectacular effects ever witnessed in ane country each float will be drawn by from four to eight horses the outsiders outriders out riders will be handsomely costumed and the attendants tend ants eight for ech float will be dressed to conform to tho subject delineated on the float the night parade the subject of which is the great salt lake real and fanciful will be fantastically beautiful and the work shown will be a triumph of the scene painters art to date of the band of pioneers persons who entered the groat salt lake valley in 1847 have reported to chairman clawson it is believed that the total enrollment will be about the pioneers will of course be the central attraction of the great jubilee they will all be brought to capital at tha expense of the commission no matter where their present habitation may be or what their financial circumstances are they will be received with the deference due to conquerors for conquerors of the desert they were the freedom of the city will be div en them they will be wined dined and me daleda grand reception will be given in their honor and they will be the central figures in what will be one yf the most interesting and unique parades ever given in the country this parade alone will be worth journeying a thousand miles to witness for it will typify a span of fifty years and m itself will be a realistic representation of what civilization and progress have accomplished in the great Basin within that time |
