Show english churches up in arms LONDON april 30 special ministers and representative laymen of churches outside the pale of the established or episcopal church are up in arms over the fact that so far as they have been able to ascertain no provision is to be made for their representation at the religious incident to the queens jubilee nor at any of the official functions connected therewith calls have been issued for me of the national committees of the baptists presbyter ians methodists and other de nomina eions with the view of making representations to the prince of wales as the head of the committee of arrangements upon the subject the general committee of the congregational union has already taken up the matter and has adopted this resolution which will probably serve as a text for the other protesting denominations the committee of the congregational union of england and wales representing more than churche a constituency of at least persons are desirous of having a proper recognition at the diamond jubilee of her gracious majesty the queen con having always been loyal supporters of the house of brunswick we expect that provision will be made in the arrangements for the ceremony of june for the accommodation of their representatives and those of the other free churches |
