| Show Indian War Vetrans Honored Monday January 15 was Indian War Vctrans Day In tho afternoon at 230 p l m about 800 of the high grade students of the district school of this city met at the city pavilion to do honor to the Spanish Fork Indian War Vetrans nine of them being present A fine program was rendered which consisted of songs and Instrumental music by the students Speeches were made by the following War Vetrans Geo A Hicks W 0 Creer Isaac Bowers Wm Jex and W E Davis Taken all in all it was one of the most enjoyable times of the season The Spanish Fork Schools are certainly equal to any in the state On Monday G A Hicks was invited to the central school and made talks to the lower grade students in regard to the Indian troubles of the early settlers of Spanish Fork Tile little folks were very attentive and seemed much interested inter-ested in the talk A number of them sang and recited in a very able manner Mr Hicks says he spent a very pleas very pleasant hour with the children and their teachers On Tuesday afternoon G A Hicks and W 0 Creer with a few other vet rans met with the high school at tho Ideal to talk to them in regard to the Walker War and the Black Hawk War respectively Comrades Hicks and Creer were the principal speakers A fine program was rendered by the students stu-dents in honor of the visitors t |
