Show Death at Scofield Ann Davis born Sept 3rd 1820 in Llanelly Carnarthashlre South Wales aged 87 years 4 months and 22 days Died at Scofield Utah Wednesday January 22nd 1908 of old age nnd was buried Sunday Jan 26 in the Scofield cemetery by the side of her beloved I husband who preceded her in Feb 1903 at the age of about 90 years Funeral I Fun-eral services were held in the Scofield ward meeting house with a large attendance at-tendance of her old friends present The speakers were Bishop Geo Ruff Elder Isaiah Llewellyn and Elder Abraham Abra-ham firppnVinlrrVi who rlnnlf nrinlinnl1v on the early part of her life as a tower of strength in the old country where she and her husband embraced the Gospel Gos-pel i in 1847 Their home was a home for the missionaries and her husband Roderick Davis presided over Treorky branch for many vears and returned again at the age of 75 years in 1891 and filled an honorable mission Sister Davis was the mother of 14 children six living at present vis John R Ellen Price Margaret Williams Henry Davis William R Davis and Mary Samuels Also 56 grand children and 26 great grand children 18 of the grandchildren grand-children being in Brother and Sister John R Davis family who were the first ones of the family to emigrate to America in 1880 and afterwards were the means of emigrating all the remainder remain-der of the family 11 in number Bro and Sister John R Davis are as standing stand-ing pillars in the church today and are among the pioneers of Scofield to which place they moved shortly after corning to Spanish Fork Cor |
