Show Firemen Hold High Jinks One of the most successful and enjoyable en-joyable social events o! tho season wns given nt the High School gym. Tuesday evening, Jan. 12th, by tho members o! the Amorlcnn Fork Fire Department. There wero present, members of tho Fire Department nnd their Invited guests, Mayor Greenwood, Green-wood, members of tho City Council and their wives, tho City Recorder and City Treasurer with their part, ners, Mrs. Duncan, wifo or tho Night Mnrshnl, nnd in addition to these each llreinau had Invited two couple. Knrly In tho evening tho pleasures started with the rollowlng committee In charge: Irving L. Pratt, K. J. .Sen-stand .Sen-stand ntul llyron Crookston Music was rurnlshed by members or the High School orchestra, and dancing wns enjoyed by nil. A grand march was lead by Chler Firmnge nnd wire Later ono or the fastest ami most spectacular games of basket ball was ployed between members of tho flro departmont and guests. Somo of thoso who starred wero: Mayor Greenwood, who so gracefully pitched tho first field basket, whllo momentarily being left unguarded; Chief Flrmage, who pitched tho first and only basket from the foul line; Councilman Hawkins, whoso movements on tho floor wero so graceful nnd full of energy; City Recorder Forbes, whoso stately figure fig-ure grasped so anxiously for tho ball to find that it was not quite within his reach; AbsL Chief Slack nnd Mr. E' J. Clayson did themsolvcs proud In trying to follow tho ball, at least when they wero on their foet; Mr. A. A. Green as guard, was very busy trying to find tho ball; Mr. George E. Able, was easily the hero of tho game, pitching two field baskets; Fireman K. J. Senstrnnd, who had tho ball several sev-eral times, would have undoubtedly bellied his team to win had ho known toward which Jbasket to Uirow the ball; Fireman Wren Anderson became be-came so busy nnd Interested that ho almost forgot ot go to supper. Finally, Fin-ally, when all players wore down and out from sheer exhaustion, tho ladles culled tho game off and announced supper. All present adjourned to the dinning room, where n most splendid banquet was served. A splendid program was rondered, consisting of speeches, readings, step-dancing, step-dancing, etc. Tho ladles gavo a splondld exhibition exhibi-tion of basket ball.
