Show BHS SQUAD TODAY AT GRANTSVILLE Bingham high school's gridders will have their second meeting this year with Grantsville at that school's stadium today at 3:30 p. m. In their first league encounter this fall, by a 21-0 score, Bingham overcame Grantsville, Grants-ville, whose gridders again experienced ex-perienced defeat, 32-0, from the strong Davis team last week. Displaying a versatile offensive offen-sive against the Granite team here last Friday, Bingham's 19-13 triumph marks them as a team to watch. In the 7-0 game with Davis Da-vis the week before, the defending defend-ing Class B champions of region two displayed what kind of a defensive game they could play. The game last Friday was a thriller and kept the good-sized crowd of local fans on their feet most of the time. In the first period Granite pushed over two touchdowns in rapid order to lead 13-0. After that the Miners settled down to battering, hard drives to score consistent gains. Good passing was responsible for two touchdowns. touch-downs. Frank Callen, Gordon Jensen, Charles Hudson and Elwinn Winn did most of Bingham's ball carrying. carry-ing. Ernest Sheen, tackle, charged charg-ed through to block a punt in the last five minutes of play, and Frank Nelson, end, gathered up the ball to race for the winning win-ning score. The game ended with Bingham on Granite s eight-yard line. |
