Show CONVOY WILL NOT EXHIBIT IN OGDEN Special to The Tribune. OGDISN, Aug. 1. Ogden will not have an opportunity to witness an exhibition by the army motor transport convoy, according ac-cording to the advices received by John' S. Lewis, president of the Merchants of Ogden. It is said the convoy will arrive in Ogden at 5:30 p. m., August 35, and will leave at 6:30 a. m. the next day for Salt Lake. Telegrams were sent to Senator Sena-tor Reed Smoot and Congressman Welling Well-ing to have the war department order the exhibition in this city, .as was first intended. in-tended. The telegram from the convoy follows: "J. S. Lewis, president of the Merchants of Ogden The officers and men of the transport convoy express their thanks for your telegram of welcome. On account of strict schedule we are following, the transcontinental trans-continental train and convoy will arrive at Ogden 5 p. m. August 15, and will leave Ogdon at 6:30 a. m. August 16. The personnel per-sonnel is thirty officers and 250 enlisted men; equipment, seventy vehicles. 'M'CLiURE, Commanding." |
