Show GRANTSVILLE WILL WELCOME SOLDIERS Special to The Tribune. GRANTSVILLE, Aug. 29. The welcome-home committee appointed by the city council has arranged a celebration for the returned soldier boys of Grantsville next Monday (Labor day) and expects one of the largest celebrations ever held here. Only two boys still remain in the service and there is no assurance that they will be at home for some time yet. The following program for the day will be given: v Silver band serenade from 8 to 10 a. m.; meeting in the opera house at 10; singing of "America" by the assembly; prayer by Chaplain J. R. Clark; speech of welcome by Mayor F. T. Burmester; solo, Charles R. Pike of Salt Lake; short speech, Cor-; Cor-; poral Vern C. Woolley; song, mixed ! chorus; address, Captain Hamilton Gardi-: Gardi-: ner of Salt Lake; solo, Charles R. Pike; benediction, J. R. Clark. ' A banquet will be served to all returned soldiers, their ladies and the parents of the boys from 12 to 2 p. m. j Sports at the pavilion grounds will oc- 1 cupy the time from 2 to 6 p. m., and will include relay races, foot races, tug-of-war, baseball game and horse races. All will attend a picture show at the opera house from 7 to 9 p. m. and a grand ball in the evening from 9 p. m. to 1 a. m. will close the celebration. |
