Show LAST CHANCE DOES DEVELOPMENT WORK '.ON'.e'ient progress is being inscle In the development work on the la.st Chance mine which lies due north of the Cardiff mid practically joins the Howell property on the north, according lo P. O. Home, secretary ot the company. To the east of tc Uat Chance hts the property of tne Price Mining comp:-iy and to the west Ihr: American Con.-olidaiod Copper. The iist Chanoe, which bus b-?en patented binre ljO, is said to b thj oldest patented patent-ed claim in the district. The Stiver King fissure cuts through the center of the property on a generally T'orthei'st-southwest direction. It is said thirty years ago considerable ore which paid Jioo. a tOTi afior all epe'ises liad been deducted, was shipepd from the old workings. A lack of finances and engineering engi-neering difficuUies at that time caused the management to cease operations. Since that time a tunnel has been driven driv-en from the north to the southwest to get under the o'.d workings. In several places in this tunnel, stringers of carbonate car-bonate ore as wide as fourteen inches have been found. A drift to the southwest south-west is being driTen to get under the old workings; another is being driven along I i fissure which runs in a genera south- j easterly direction. All of these workings are in lire. It is the plan of the manage- 1 inent ultimately to run the main tunnel to intersect the Silver King fissure, U is said. 1 |
