Show Victory Medal Prepared for All Allied- Soldiers ('"Mil-.tko Trll.uno rrvli-r ) WASHINGTON, April 11. A Victory medal and rlbbou to bo worn by the soldiers of every nation na-tion who bdrved with the allied armies In the world war, has been ; agreed upon by the interallied commission. com-mission. A description of the medal is contained in a cable from General TersliluK which lias been turned over to the I'lne Arts commission for execution exe-cution of 'the deslRn. Samples of; the 'Rainbow" ribbon, which is mado by intertwining the colors of the allies, have been forwarded by General Tershing. While all the medals will follow the same general lines, each nation is authoiiied to prepare its individual indi-vidual design, which, when worn with the Rainbow ribbon, will take the placo of the service chevron in the cases of men who taw service overseas. In case it is decided to is.ue the ; Victory medal to soldiers who did not sorve abroad, a distinguishing medal will be added to the medals to be worn by men who served over-Eea.s. over-Eea.s. Victory buttons, similar to the G. A. R. button, to be issued by the war department to all soldiers, will be ready for is?ue about the middle of May. |
