M - Plans Parties The first in a series of enter-tainments, a prettily arranged bridge luncheon, was given Wed-nesday afternoon bv Mrs. Russell Mrs. Leland Walker entertain-ed the G. G. G. club Thursday at a one o'clock luncheon at her home on 1469 Princeton avenue, Salt Lake City. t Martha chapter, Order of East-ern Star, and F. & A. M. Canyon lodge No. 13 are giving a party Monday evening at the Masonic hall for members and partners. Mrs. A. A. Macke is chairman of entertainment and Mrs. A. C. Larick of refreshments. j Mrs. Irvin Sorenson had as guests at a Sunday evening Birthday dinner for her husband Mr. and Mrs. Albert Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. Aimer Berg and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Turner. t Mrs. James Barkle of Copper-to- n entertained for the M. E. Community church Ladies Aid Thursday with a waffle luncheon. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Shelley of Apex Mine were hosts Saturday evening at a bridge supper. Mr. and Mrs. William Allmark, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Faddis and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Davies were guests. Mr. and Mrs. Faddis play-ed high. 4 Mrs. Isabel' Murphy of Salt Lake City was the complimented guest Tuesday when Mrs. Char-lo- s Sullinger of Copperton enter-tained at luncheon for six guests. City celebrated her sixty-fift- h birthday with a family party. Attending from Bingham were her son-in-la- w and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Householder. Mrs. Agnes Householder of American Fork noted the occa-sion of her eightieth birthday Saturday, February 18, when her daughters gave a party in her honor. Among the forty rela-tives and friends paying their respects were her son, Jack Householder, and a daughter, Mrs. Maude Deacon of Copper-ton- . Members of the Home Mission-ary Society and Ladies Aid of the M. E. Community church will quilt Friday at the church. k A one o'clock bridge luncheon was given last Thursday by Mrs. John Turner at her home. Mrs. Raymond Marriott and Mrs. R. R. Marriott won prizes at cards. Band Mothers Organize Recently elected officers of the Bingham Central school Band Mothers association are Mrs. Har-old Clough, president; Mrs. Ern-est Prigmore, vice president; Mrs. Vern Skinner, secretary-treasure- r, and Mrs. Neldon Chad-wic-reporter. A meeting and social will be held in the near future. J Dinner guests of Miss Marion Redd of Salt Lake City Sunday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Har-old Barton and son Keith and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Barton and daughter Meris. Mrs. E. E. Longfellow was hos-tess last Thursday evening in the Masonic hall for the auxiliary to the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Mrs. Ida Kanniainen and Mrs. Herb Gust won prizes at cards. Supper was served to nine. Entertaining with an exhibit-ion of movies taken recently of their neighborhood surroundings in Markham and about town, Mr. and Mrs. Harry McNeely had as dinner guests Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Morris and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Frisch. The occasion was Mr. McNeely's birthday. Nu-- I Club Bright spring flowers, sweet peas and daffodils combined, formed the attractive centerpiece for the Nu-- I club bridge dinner at which Miss Margaret Ireland was hostess Thursday evening at Jeanne's Tea Room on Highland Drive, Salt Lake City. Invited guests were Mrs. J. L. Seal, Mrs. T. H. McMullin, Mrs. R. G. Fraz-ie- r and Mrs. Lee Jones. . Literary Lesson Mrs. Rita McNeely will give the literary lesson next Tuesday afternoon at the L. D. S. Relief Society meeting in the Bingham wardhouse. Mrs. Christy Wood-land gave the teacher's training lesson and Mrs. W. E. Day the theology lesson at the meeting this week. . Mrs. Spendlove Complimented Singing Mothers of the Bing-ham Relief Society gave Mrs. Jane Spendlove a surprise party Friday evening. Twenty women entertained with a program of songs at the Spendlove home and then enjoyed a social hour and served refreshments. M No. 1 Fire Auxiliary Mrs. Clive Siddoway and Mrs. Marell Timothy played high Mon-day evening at bridge games fol-lowing business meeting of No. 2 Fire auxiliary. Mrs. W. L. D. Bennion of Copperton, presiding officer. In-teresting current events were given by Mrs. C. E. Pollard. Group singing supplied musical numbers. Refreshments were ser-ved. J4 Rebokahs A business meeting of the Ruth Rebekah lodge No. 7 at the Ma-sonic hall presided over by Mrs. May Peterson, noble grand, was followed by luncheon at Sturm's cafe for fifteen members Tues-day evening. Schoolmates of the little girl acted as flower bearers. Interment was in the Bingham cemetery. Monday evening Mrs. E. J. Cowdell was hostess to her bridge club. Two tables of cards were played during the evening. A midnight luncheon was served to the following ladies: Mrs. Or-v- Warner, Mrs. Ernest Nichols, Mrs. Albert Rayc, Mrs. Mildred Finnis, Mrs. Robert Streator and Mrs. Bud Nichols. Mrs. Nichols was awarded first prize and Mrs. Olsen the second prize. Mrs. Streator was presented with the house prize. The Hardys have spent the past three months as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. William Fennell. Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. Basil Doman entertained Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Jones at dinner at their home, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Stuart of Tooele spent the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. XJowlby. Mrs. James Denver was hos-tess to her bridge foursome Mon-day afternoon. A one o'clock luncheon was served to Mrs. Heber Nichols, Mrs. Charles Sul-linger and Mrs. Frank Mead, wfter which cards were played, Mrs. Sullinger winning high ecore. Ray Richans of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Don Hatt of Bountiful were the house guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Cowdell Wednes-day evening and Thursday. Earl Hoffman Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Hoffman, was taken to the hospital Wednes-day for an appendectomy. Due to unavoidable circum-stances the Relief Society Cop-perton ward dinner has been postponed until a later date. Ar-rangements had been made for the evening of March 17, when the dinner would have commem-orated the organization of the Society. However, committees have been selected to plan a special program, marking the anniversary. This will be given Wednesday, 7:30 p. m., March 15, in the Copperton grade school auditorium. The general public is invited to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Iverson went to Brigham City Thursday to spend a short visit with rela-tives. Funeral services for Roxie Deon Mayne, 12, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Mayne, were conducted in the Copperton grade school auditorium Sunday after-noon. Bishop George M.
