Clarity, who has been assistant general manager of the DenveY & Rio j Grande railroad with headquarters In Salt ; Lake since May of last year, has been elevated to the important position of , transportation assistant to the federal regional director of transportation at , Chicago. i The appointment became effective last Monday, according to announcement received re-ceived at local offices of the Denver & Rio Grande yesterday. Mr. Clarity is now on the new job. He has been in Chicago for about ten days past, having been summoned there by the federal railroad administration. At the time he was called east it was thought by friends here that it might be for the purpose of calling him into some important position under the railroad commission and the announcement that he has been , made transportation assistant to Hale Holden, regional director of transportation for the central western region, is no great i surprise to his friends. I Mr. Clarity has had years of experience in the transportation business and ifi con- ! sidered an expert in his line. He became connected with the Denver & Rio Grande in 1912 and for some years was stationed at Denver as superintendent of transportation transpor-tation of that road. In May of last year he was transferred to Salt Lake and promoted pro-moted to the position of assistant general manager of the Rio Grajide. He has been serving in this capacity since. As to who will succeed Air. Clarity as assistant general manager of the Rio Grande no information is forthcoming as yet. |
