Show Morse Moon Dies in Montana Actor Is a Victim of Influenza ARTHUR MORSE MOON of Salt Lake, widely known comedian, who passed- away at Helena, Mont., Thursday night, and his wife, formerly Miss Donna Anderson, also of this city, a member of his company, who is-ill is-ill with the disease. ARTHUR MORSE MOON is dead-The dead-The widely known, young comedian, com-edian, who had made his home in Salt Lake since he was a child, passed away- in Helena, Mont., Thursday night. Influenza, with which he had suffered less 4han a week, was the cause of death. Mrs. Moon, formerly Miss Donna Anderson of this city, also has contracted the disease and wa3 reported re-ported to be in a critical condition last night. Mr. Moon was born in Garden City, Kan., about twenty-eight years ago and came to this city with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Moon, when about 7 years of age. He was a graduate of the Salt Lake high school and also studied for the stage in New York City. Mr. Moon played comedy parts with the old Mack-Rambeau stock company in this city and the Kelly stock company at what is now the Pantages theater. He also spent a season with George M. Cohan. About two years ago Mr. and Mrs. Moon went to Los Angeles, where both were prominent In motion pictures, until Mr-Moon Mr-Moon decided to return to the legitimate stage. Preceding his work in Los Angeles An-geles he had toured the Pantages circuit with a musical comedy called "The Wrong Bird," written by himself, with music by Miss Margaret Whitney, also of this city, and he was presenting this comedy on the Pantages circuit at tho time of his death. The company closed in Helena, October 10, and went to Butte, but that town being be-ing closed on account of influenza, the members returned to Helena and gave a special performance last Saturday night. Mr. Moon was stricken immediately afterward and sank rapidly until death came. In addition to his widow, Mr. Moon Is survived by his parents and one sister, Miss Yvonne Moon. A. T. Moon left the city for Helena, Thursday, upon being advised that his son was critically 111. Mrs. Moon and Miss Yvonne Moon, who were in New York Citv, also are on their way to Helena. The body will be brought to Salt Lake. |
