Show MEXICANS OBJECT TO GENERAL'S ORDER .TUARfeZ, Oct. IS. Home guards near Santa Rosalia, Chihuahua, were the first to resist the recent order of General Mur-cuia Mur-cuia commandeering all horses and mules in the state of Chihuahua. One hundred hun-dred horses were seized from the home guards of that district by federal soldiers sol-diers last week. At a meeting of the ranchers and home guards it was voted lo resist the confiscation order and a detachment de-tachment of home guards started in pursuit pur-suit of the federals driving their horses into Santa Rosalia. Overcome by superior supe-rior numbers the federal detachment was forced lo surrpnder the seized horses and were also deprived of their arms and ammunition. am-munition. Ranchers and home guards in the Casas Grandes district also sent a message to General Murguia, telling him he would have to send troops to take the horses from the men of that mountain district. Partisans of Governor Enriquez here claimed today that the order was aimed at the home guards because they were Iriendly to Enriquez. |
