Show BINGHAM HOSPITAL GIVEN HIGH RATING For the twenty-second consecutive year the American College of Surgeons has announced a list of hospitals in the United States and Canada, and a few in other countries, that neet its minimum standard of approval. The 1939 approved list includes 2,720 hospitals. They are situated in about half 1 hat number of communities and of these only 209 are smaller hospitals having between 25-1!) beds. Ringham Canyon is one of the favored smaller communities, commu-nities, boasting excellent health service in an approved hospital hos-pital and has reason to be very proud of that fact. Of the eight approved Utah hospitals, Ringham Canyon hospital and clinic is the only privately owned and directed hospital. The others are community, church, county and federal institutions, in-stitutions, thus having sources of revenue besides support of patients. Announcement of the list was made at the twenty-ninth annual Clinical Congress of the American College of Surgeons Sur-geons being held at Philadelphia, which Dr. Paul S. Richards of the Ringham hospital is attending. A good hospital is insurance against these drains upon its resources. However, the small hospital, in order to meet the requirements, re-quirements, must have the support of its community. In emergency, fire, snow slide, accident or sudden severe illness, the recognized, approved and adequate local hospital is a community facility of first importance. Approval of the American College of Surgeons means that hospital care attains standards approved by medical science. The Ringham Canyon hospital staff is to be congratulated con-gratulated on the excellence of care and service given the sick at that institution. |
