Show A t falt knights templar out in great force BOSTON VIEWS THE SIGHTS quarter of a million people on the sidewalks honored BOSTON masa ang 27 special parade was the one great feature of the triennial tri conclave of knights templar and it is estimated that a quarter of a million people window sand roofs of the business and residence blocks along tle liae of march to see and to cheer the gallant chevaliers chev aliers as they marched along with waving plumes and polished swords that hashed in alie sunlight sur light aa early a 8 the various comman aenes were on their way to the localities designed for the formation of the divisions of which chev were to form apart superstition had been thrown to the winds by grand commander lawrence the chief marshal for hia orders provided for just thirteen of alie divisions although he might just as well have made it twelve or fourteen the divisions formed with military precision and every was ready when at eleven the ignal of three guns was given for the first division to take up the line of march the column was led by chief marshal lawrence and sixty aids with one representative of each of the grand Comm andenes in the united states and knights from winnipeg and manitoba and st john new brunswick itie new york grand commander les began to appear in evidence in the fifth division the ohio and kentucky knights were in the seventh those from indiana texas and mississippi in the eighth the ninth division waa given over entirely to michigan and the tenth to illinois in the eleventh were the commander ies from california Cali cornia tennessee and wisconsin missouri alabama louisiana iowa and minnesota made up the twelfth division while in the unlucky thirteenth were the grand Comm andenes of kansas nebraska arkansas oregon montana wyoming and arizona the line of march covered three miles up commonwealth avenue through the boulevards around the south end of washington street and thence through the business section at blackstone Black stona square the column was reviewed by most eminent grand master hehu me curdy and gov greenhalge while at adams square mayor edwin U curtis and chief marshal lawrence inspected tho marching knights throughout the route the knights were given a continuous ovation by the spectators those distinguishing themselves by their military step and bearing coming in for an etra behare of applause app laube |
