Mr. and Mrs. Powers were married in Baraboo. oV;s., December 7, 1 sS, I by the. Rev. Frederick May Holland, a noted Christian divine of that day ot' Boston, Mass. They made their home tin Wisconsin from 1SS0 until 1901, where Mr. Powers was proprietor of the Republic, a daily and weekly newspaper news-paper published at Baraboo. During those years he was assisted bv Mrs. Powers, who was a newspaper woman by profession. About seventeen years ago they came to Salt Lai e and have since resided iu tboyity and vicinity, for a number of years living at 7s Virginia street, where they erected a home soon after their removal here. For the lawt few vears they have lived on the Mc Olvuvpus farm in East Mill Creek, about terf miles from the city. r. Power- is a veteran of the civil war. being a member of the Maxwell ''C-Keau post of th" Grand Army of the Republic of this city.
