The Angels broke even witli the Tigers in today's double-header, the morning affair going twelve innings to a Vernon victory, 4 to 3, and the afternoon game resulting In a Vernon shutout, Los Angeles winning, 1 to 0. The Angels took the series, five games to two, and hold their position as runner-up in the pennant race., Vernon took the lead in the morning game by putting over a run in the fourth. Two more in the seventh made the score 3 to 0 in their favor. The Angels tied things up in the eighth, when Fournler, Baler and Davis crossed the plate. Hall then relieved Standrtdge and when the Angels began to -locate Hovlik in the ninth Fromme was sent in. The Angels were unable to do anything with him, while the Tigers got to Hall In the twelfth and put over the winning run. Hogg and Marion indulged in a sizzling pitching duel in the afternoon.
