Some of the richest rich-est ore that has ever been taken from the Chief Consolidated mine is now be-j be-j ing removed from the 1S00 level, where a new strike was made about a week ago. Superintendent Cecil Fitch says that the deposit is not a. large one, but that it appears to be widening out as work progresses. The ore was picked up in a new section of the property after the drift which had resulted in the opening of the big lSnO stope had been pushed farther into virgin territory. The mine's new ore body Is now producing approximately approxi-mately fifteen tons per day and mine assays as-says Indicate that the ore will carry from SfK to 1000 ounces silver, this being a conservative estimate of its value as it is broken down for shipment. Of course some of the assays show up into the thousands of ounces in silven Reports from the Chief Consolidated mine indicate that development work is continually adding to the ore reserves and that at no time in the history of the property was there such a large amount of ore exposed. The work of enlarging the shaft is progressing pro-gressing In a satisfactory manner, the contractor who has the job in charge now having shaft men at work at four different dif-ferent points In the shaft. |
