Show DEL MONTE CLUB GETS AMATEUR TOURNEY Western Association Title Will Be Decided De-cided in California; Election Elec-tion Held. CHI. ; AC O. Jan. 15. The W e t e r n Colt' as.ociatiun will hold its 1916 amateur ama-teur tournament on the iinks of the Del Monte club of Monteref'al., it was deeble! today. There was heated debate at the meeting meet-ing ot the association over the oiler of the Del Monte club to pay the, transportation transpor-tation of the entrants. The outgoing board of dire--toi -.ruled that to accept this offer would deprive, those accepting of their standing as amateurs. am-ateurs. United rotate Golf association, attending attend-ing the meeting a.s a delegate, intimated that if the Western a?socia tion accepts the transportation, its members may all be declared professionals by the national na-tional body.
