The opponents oppo-nents of Louis D. Brandeis, nominate.! to be associate justice of the supreme court of the United States, admitted today that he would be confirmod. Acting Chairman Overman of the judiciary ju-diciary committee this morning appointed appoint-ed as a subcommittee to consider the appointment the following senators: Chilton, West- Virginia, chairman; Fletcher, Florida; Walsh, Montana, Democrats; Clark, Wyoming, and Cummins,' Cum-mins,' lova, Republicans. Although Senator Overman had announced an-nounced himeelf as opposed to the appointment ap-pointment the subcommittee is admitted admit-ted to be friendly to Mr. Brandeis. Senators Chilton, Fletcher and Cummins are said to be favorable, with WaUh noncommittal and Clark opposed.
