Show SENATOR SMOOT IS SPEAKER AT PROVO Special to The Tribune. PROVO. Oct. 12. Senator Reed Smoot addressed a large audience this afternoon in the Ladies" Republican clubrooms. The senator was act ompa nied from Salt Ike by Mrs. .1. S. Hyde, who made a brief address- complimenting Senator Smoot. on his efficient services for the state and nn t ion. Senator Smoot denied that President Wilson had kept the country out of war. and aliened that bv greater firmness the Mexican atrocities against Americans would have been prevented and there would - have .been no Lusilania catastrophe. catas-trophe. Mrs. John R. Stewart read an interesting interest-ing paper on "Women in Politics." and the valuable work of the Ladies' Republican Repub-lican club.
