Show DEUTSCHLAND CREW HAS CHURCH SERVICE BALTIMORE, July 16. There was no leading on the submarine merchantman Deutschiand today, but a force of men was put to work painting her hull, from the waterline to the deck, a dark grav color. Religious services were conducted this morning on the interned North German liner Neckar by the Rev. Otto Apitz for the crews of the Deutschiand and Neckar. The clergyman afterward said the services were in the nature of "a Godspeed" for the submarine crew. . . United States Senators William Alden Smith of Michigan, William H. Thompson of Kansas and Claude A. Swanson of Virginia Vir-ginia inspected the Deutschiand today. |
