Show iiiiilP WOMEN PERFECTED Mrs. Lily C. Wolstenholme President of Utah Branch of National Council. WORK IS EDUCATIONAL Efforts Will Be Made to Secure Se-cure Passage of Helpful Legislation. A Utah branch of tho National Council Coun-cil of Women Voters in Enfranchised States was formed last night at a meet-inn meet-inn held at ilio home of Mrs. Lily C. Wolstenholme, Utah vice president of the national society. The organization is designed to represent the interests of women who reside in states where there is equal suffrage and, according to Mrs. Wolstenholme, in no way is it similar to women's organizations which are working strictly to secure tho entran-cliisement entran-cliisement of women in states where thev do not vote at the present time. According to Mrs. Wolstenholme, the council is non-partisan in character and has for its purposes the education ot women voters to the interests of their citizenship, work toward securing the best legislation and the lending of aid to women who are endeavoring to secure se-cure the ballot in other states. Mrs. Wolstenholme, who was elected president of the stato organization, will po to Ogden today, where she purposes to organize a local branch. In the near future she also purposes to extend the council 's work to Brigham City, Logan and Prove Other Officers Chosen. Mrs. William Sprv was elected first vice president of the state organization organiza-tion last night and Mrs. W. Mont Kerry Ker-ry was elected second vice president. Miss Emma Lindsev was elected secretary secre-tary and Mrs. V. M. Lyman, dr., treasurer. IMrcctors of the society m addition to the above officers are Mrs. .lames II. Movie, Mrs. Susie V. A national convention of tho organization organi-zation will be held in Cheyenne on Julv 26 to 28, and Mrs. Wolstenholme hopes to have a largo delegation go from here to the meeting. |
