Appointments for the barid and the drum and trumpet corps in the cadet battalion at the local high schools wero made yesterday. TIarry Nelson nas appointed drum major and supervisor of field mimic, and Vayno Carbis was mado chief trumpeter. At the same time Eugene Smith and Harold Jamos were appointed first and soc.oud lieu-tenants, lieu-tenants, respectively, in tho baud. Eugene Eu-gene bmith held a similar position last year. In addition to the foregoing the following fol-lowing appointments were made: Chief musician, Frank Baer; principal musician, musi-cian, l'red Suell: sergeants of the baud, Albert Klink, William Mouohan, Dwight Bardwell, far Kffincer, Milton Frumkin, Martin Mulvey, Carrol Uor-ton; Uor-ton; corporals of the baud, Frank McDonald, Mc-Donald, Charles Anderson.
