Show I ANTON JOSI HI J VCOB SON ploneei mining man who pusscd away it hte home In this city yesterday PIIEER MING Ml DEAD ATJS HOME Anton Joseph Jacobson Sue cumbs to an Attack of Septicemia Poisoning Anton Joseph Jacobson father of A 0 Jacobson well known mining man and of the late Anton Jacobson better known as Touj Jacobson died at his home 342 Harvard avenue yester day morning at o o clock of septicemia poisoning He was 8 jears of age The funeral arrangements have not been made aa yet In all probability how ever the funeral will take place Tues day ALr Jacobson was born in Sweden June 1 1S37 and came to Ltah m 18o9 lie vas one of the first men to engage in the mining industry in the Kits, district where he located the 11a tilda mine and port ons of the prop erty now known as the City Bocks The Matilda mine is now a part of the Alta Consolidated property Ir Jacob son took a "mall fortune from the Ma tilda mine which he later sold to the McMaster interests, under whom it waa afterwards operated as the Mat Ida and Davenport, and was one of the heaviest producers in the mining camp With the proceeds of the sale Mr Jacobson bought the land that 13 now occupied by the Salt Lake brewery and the Hobday nursery He moved to Lincoln county, Nev in the early 80s and there followed mining until his return to Utah m IS80 After leturn ing he became well known as a con tractor and builder He is survived by the following ehil dren .
