Show mimm ice FEATURES DIKE CARD Wilcox and Samuelson Will Compete at Saucer Track Tonight. Manager J. E. Langford. Jr., of the Majestic park saucer track, has decided to give the fans the best there is in the city in the bicycle racing line, and has made a slight change in tonight's programme, pro-gramme, and thereby strengthened it considerably. Instead of the five-mile human-paced race between Harvey Wilcox and Ned Young, he has substituted a five-mile motor-paced race between Wilcox and Billy Samuelson. Samuelson has been one of the best pace followers on the local track for a number of years, but lias not followed the game regularly for the last year or so. Now he is back in the game again and has been training like a beaver for this paced race, and says that he w-ill show Wilcox, who claims to be the "King of Pace Followers," that he can do a comeback come-back stunt and beat him the same aa he used to-. "Wilcox, however, thinks different and can hardly wait for the gong to ring to send them on their way, an he says that although Samuelson used to' be a good rider, he doesn't believe he can do a comeback. This will be the big feature of the night's racing and as the motors seem to be behaving all right there is no reason why the fens shouldn't be treated to a real old-time pa ceo race. Another -feature will be the attempt of Bob Dlefenhacher and Phil Wright to break the one-mile world's tandem record of 1:43 3-5. which is held by Samuelson and "Williams. The other races will be a two-mile open lap race, a one-mile handicap for the professionals, an unlimited Australian pursuit race, a three-mile lap race for the amateurs, and a one-mile novice. |
