More than 40.000 uirres of land have been recently opened to on try under tho provisions of the enlarged homestead act by an order issued by Secretary Lane. The landn lie mostly in Kane and WuhIiIiikiou conir-ties, conir-ties, Utah, la the extreme southern purt of t lie state. Tho local land officers at Salt Luke City will be advised of tho description of the lands designated In the near future. In Idaho the extension of the enlarged hcmuiHteiid act to about 1C3.000 acres of additional lands and tholr opening to entry en-try under this gnnral provisions of the act, requiring residence, ulo is announced by Secretary l.nne. This lands, while situated In a number of counties In thn southern part of tho state, are mainly located in Twin Falls, Cassia. Oneida and Bingham counties. |
