Several months ago tho board decided de-cided to build a private plant for tho High school, and called for bids. Later it was discovered that energy f;ould bo purchased from the Utah "Light & Railway Rail-way company cheaper than by building" build-ing" a plant at 'least for tho present,' and Iho former action was rescinded. The board last night, ordered the cleric to return unopened Ue bids that had been received. Purchase of n tract of land adjoining adjoin-ing the Riverside school grounds on the west from the Hoffman Brothers company at a price of .07i)0 was authorized. au-thorized. The ground will bo obtained in order to provide more space at the school. Superintendent Eli A. Folland, in charge of school buildings, was directed di-rected to ask the city commission to build a foot bridge across Red Butto gulch at Thirteenth East street in order to provide a means of crossiug the gulch for High school students attending at-tending the new" High school from points south of tho gulch. The roport of the special committee on uniforms recommending that cadet uuiforms be purclinscd from the Sicgel Clothing I'ompany, agents for the M". C. Lilly Manufacturing company, was adopted and concurred in. The purpose of tho recommendation is to obtain a standard uniform. |
