Joseph Uonry Martin Mar-tin acted as his own attorney ihlB morning morn-ing when he was arraigned In Judge N. f. Harris's court and pleaded not guilty to the four Indictments recently returned by tho Weber county grand Jury. Having Hav-ing previously arranged with his client to enter that plea. Attorney Soren X. Chrlstonsen of Salt Lake was not present whn the supposed leader of the alleged blackmailers was arraigned. J. V. Martin, the uncle, was the only relative- of the accused man in the courtroom court-room during the arraignment. Martin talked with several of the attorneys engaged en-gaged on another case, and laughed when he told them that he had learned so much about law he no longer required the flcrIccs of an attorney to represent him. Tne accused man even appeared cheerful cheer-ful when he listened to the reading of each Indictment and answered "not guilty." , The indictments charge that Martin robbed Lee C.
