Show Guard Wrecks Window. j OGDEN, Doc. 26. Tho smashing of a plate glass window, valued at $100. and the scarring of a grand piano by buckshot buck-shot constituted the damage which re-i re-i suited at the home of Mrs. David Ec-cles, Ec-cles, Jefferson avenue and Twenty-sixth street. Christmas eve by the accidental discharge of a shotgun by the special guard on duty there. The man Is said to have been William Miller, who was placed on the job by the regular guard, W. W. Richardson, the tatter desiring to spend Christmas eve at home. When questioned regarding the matter today. Sheriff T. A. DeVlne admitted that he had visited the Eccles home on Wednesday evening following the discharge dis-charge of the shotgun and obtained a statement from the guard on duty. Tho man said he was sitting on the front porch when the shotgun was accidentally discharged through the window. One of the Eccles boys sleeps at the Jefferson avenue home, but no other members of the family are there at present. |
