The work has heen under way for ten months, and It ia believed that tho flow will be struck today or tomorrow A short distance aboe the present tunnel tun-nel is a second tunnel which goes into the mountainside a distance of 130 feet and which is giving a flow of about 1,-000.000 1,-000.000 gallons of water dallv. The lower tunnel, which id a half mile above the brewery, will strike the rock str?ita ahout eighteen feet below the upper tunnel, tun-nel, and it is thought that a mmm greater great-er flow of water will be had as the result. Should the experiment prove a success t to expected that a large sum or money win be. expended by th. waterworks department de-partment next year in driving other and deeper tunnels. |
