In a. brief meeting tills morning the city commissioners awarded to the J. P. O'Neill Construction Construc-tion company the contract for malting improvements in sewer district No. 114. The new sewer will cost approximately $8300. Attorney C. A. Boyd, who is representing represent-ing the local and eastern capltallstn In the matter of securing a gas franchise, has requested the board to tako action on the proposed grant as soon as convenient. con-venient. He represents that In order to secure material in time to start construction con-struction work early in the spring it is necessary to learn the decision of the commissioners regarding the franchise at the earliest possible time. When the request was first made it was referred to the commissioners as a committee on the whole. Since that time, according to Jlayor A. G. Fell, it has been given very little consideration. They promised to tnkfe up the matter in detail at an earlv date. Mr. Boyd offered to meet with the commissioners at any time for a discussion of the franchise ordinance. |
