Show AN OGDEN INVENTION an iron trunk that seems to work well mr E R bule has invented and taken out letters patent for an iron trunk strap the first of the kind made thia strap is made of sections of thin strap iron with hinges to turn the corners of the trunk the different sections of the strap are made adjustable so as to fit any size trunk or box the adjustment is ov by means of a fastener or buckle which holds to the perforations in the iron strap much as a common buckle dues ina leathern strap except that this strap is drawn tight by a little lever which ia held down to the strap after being set by a movable band the strap is made longer or shorter on any aide by clipping the buckla along on the perforated end of the strap to any point desired when ones set there is no give to this metal strap and a trunk is iron bound mr bule says he can make these straps to retail at pair while a pair of leather straps would cost 2 he thinks be will manufacture them in ogden he has not completed any arrangement to this end yet but W E holland has partially considered the purpose of going into it it is to be hoped that tins d vice will prove what it seems to be a complete success commercial |
