| Show ATTENTION FARTO farmers are aware that as fine a sugar plant is being erected in this county as can be found in the united states it will be finished this fall and haye a capacity for manufacturing 35 tons of sugar per day which will require tons of sugar beets to raise the requisite amount at least acres of land must bo de voted to the beet culture the sugar company is anxious to encourage this kind of farming during its infancy and this year they offer a big price for beets as au inducement for farmers to engage in them if you are a farmer just glance over this agreement gotten out by said company and consider whether or not it would pay you to sign a hk eone THIS AGREEMENT between the utah sugar company a corporation party of the first part and john doe of provo party of the second part wit that for and in consideration of the covenants hereinafter i conia meu ou me pare 01 me said party of the first paty the party of the second part agrees and covenants to and with the said party of the first part that the said party of the second part shall and will plant cultivate harvest and deliver to the said party of the first part at their sugar works in utah county utah territory unless some other place is designated in the margin of this contract during tha current plant ins and harvestine harve atine season of 1891 gugar I 1 sta from seed to be furnished lor that purpose by the said part of the first part to the extent of five acres of land on the farm now occupied by ilia said party of the second part iu said territory the particular tract to be si cultivated is hereby selected and agreed upon between the partida hereto the party of the second part is to prepare the soil at the proper time and without delay thereafter lo 10 commence the cultivation of said beets and at the proper time iliin them out as a general rulo they wil stand not over four to six inches apart in the rows on and after the first day of september in the discretion of the party of the first part or its agents the said party of the second part is to commence and proceed with the harvesting and gathering of the crop and to continue the delivery thereof clean and in good condition and with the tops closely and squarely cut off at the last or bottom leaves until tha said crop shall be exhausted the amount to be delivered deliva red shall be increased or diminished to meet the requirements of the party of the first part as it may direct all beets delivered under this contract are to be piled in a proper manner under the direction of the party of alie arst part or its agents or delivered direct in the factory by the party of the second part should the party of the second part neglect or refuse to comply with the above conditions the party of tho first part has the right at its option to can cel this contract very large baet sor crown mostly above ground or defective and unfit to be manufactured into sugar will not be received in consideration whereof the said party of the first part agrees to fernith the necessary beet seed at cost and to pay to the party of the second part lour and a half dollars per ton for all beets cultivated and delivered in accordance cor dance with the terms of this agreement and for all beets delivered that shall contain not leas than 15 per cent of sugar 10 weight of beet five dollars per ton payments to be made by the said first party on or before the tenth day of each month for all beets delivered during the preceding month witness our hands aej seals the day of march 1891 etc |
