Show STRICT PASTY EGLE when the peoples party of payson in convention last tuesday voted against giving minority or liberal re presentation in the city council they did the right thing so ions as the peoples party exists as a distinct political organization we be cievo in all sections voting tho straight peoples ticket time this fusion business never gives satisfaction it is neither the rule of of one party nor the other and there is never the harmony existing in a council that we find in one composed of straight party members in a small city like payson where there is portion or ward liberal there can be no advantage in giving them representation whatever the majority thinks best for the welfare of the city that the minority must submit to and it is only right they should the history of local issues in utah has been that no concessions are made fo the peoples when the liberals oro in the in salt lake city the liberals were kindly given minority representation in abo former council in the last council elected a year ago the people duly elected alderman from two ward but the liberals assumed can arol and have held the offices in spite of protests they want no minority representation in their government furthermore they are not willing to give up the seats duly gained without a contest and while this is goin on in tho courts their term of office will have aspired from the liberals the peoples party might with profit loam the lesson to make no undue concessions civo a strict party rule so longas the party is in power and if reverses come die with the party colors flying this course inspires more confidence in our own ranks and gains better re eject from our opponents |
