| Show A queer family quarrel A rather amusing though disgraceful case was up in the justice court last saturday mrs david young swore out a complaint charging her husband with h eving committed a battery upon her person by scalding and otherwise abusing hr had the wife been accused of scalding her husband it seems to ua it would have been more in accordance with the natural course of human events but this seems to b so far a sort of off year in natural phenon rna anyhow it seems that mr youn and his wife got to quarreling thursday night as to who should adeep bathe front side of the bed both cl inning the legal right the quarrel was kept up according to her all night the nest morning it broke out with renewed energy and mrs young struck her husband on the arm with a boot with which ehe was at the time in the act of adorning a foot of one of the children this as he state made him mad and he gently laid his hands upon her and put her upon the floor and sat upon her to make her be baye herself when he got up he started out to the stable and she followed and threw a broom at his head which he says unfortunately missed it when became back from feeding his horses he claims she took a spoon and threw some hot grease on his hand from the pan in which she ws frying some meat she says tho grease popped on his hand if any got there whereupon he took the tea kettle and poured boiling water down her back and on her right arm scalding her quite badly the justice after hearing the evidence came to the conclusion that david should have known better than scald his wife and that he should be chastised for andule inn in such ungentlemanly conduct and sentenced him to ten days in the cooler and 15 fine and costa of court wasatch ave |
