To afford means whereby those, who, from circumstances beyond their own control aro now debarred from obtaining obtain-ing permanent cmpl03'inont in the years of adoloscouco, may quulify themselves for useful and prosperous careers in trade or in tho forces of tho cown. To render tho corps self supporting by onabling- its members to attain so high a standard of smartness and 'efficiency 'ef-ficiency in drill, gymnastics and kindred exorcises, that tho public may bo attracted at-tracted to witness oxhibitio,ns in tho nature of military tournaments.
