Show UNION LEADERS FACE DISTURBING OF PEACECHARGE Justice of the Peace Francis A. Miller will hear testimony October 28 in the trial of Morris Anderson, district organizer for the International Union of Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers, and Herman Anderson, financial secretary se-cretary of the Garfield local, I.-U.M.M. I.-U.M.M. & S.W., who were arrested arrest-ed October 17 on a disturbing of the peace charge for asserted use of a loud speaker. The attorney at-torney " for the defense entered a plea of not guilty Saturday. Permission given the union representatives re-presentatives to oil-rate the loud speaker was revoked by the city council October 15, after numerous numer-ous complaints against the noise were received from residents in the area of Carr Fork and Main. William Gately, an organizer for the CIO from Los Angeles, was arrested Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. by Patrolman R. J. Contrat-to Contrat-to for assertedly broadcasting over a loudspeaker from union headquarters. Appearing before Justice of Peace Francis A. Miller, Mil-ler, Gately pleaded not guilty and was released on a ' $25.00 bond. Trial will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 28. Alke T. Diamant is defense attorney for all three men. Gately was arrested arrest-ed again yesterday for reported use of the loudspeaker at union headquarters. " |
