Show ST. LOUIS DETECTIVE HERE FOR FRED WEBER Detective. James E. Archery of Ihe SI, Louis police department arrived in Salt. Lake Friday from the Missouri metropolis for the purpose of Inking in charge Fred Weber, alias Fred .lucid, alias Jones, who is wanted in St. Louis for the murder of William Kraft. June 12. 1899. Detective Archery expects to leave for fet. Louis today with his prisoner. Detectives De-tectives Cleveland and Ripley arrested Weber. May Ifi, on Third West and South Temple streets. Soon after his arrest he admitted his identity, but told Lhc officers of-ficers that lie killed Kraft in self-defense. "The tvo boys," said Archery, "had a fighl a day or two before the killing. Weber was 20 years of age and Kraft. IS. After the light Weber encountered Kraft while walking along the street, and. taking tak-ing a rock from his pocket, he struck Kraft on the head, frncturlng his skull, Kraft died a few days later. |
