Show ARREST AS FORGER 15-YEAR-DLD GIRL Passes Many Checks at Brig-ham Brig-ham City and in bgden, and Flees. Special to The Tribune. BRIG HAM CITY. May 3. A 15-year-old girl is accused of wholesale forgerj of checks hero and In Ogden. She la considered con-sidered a very clever forger in that she always gets the money. She is now much wanted on a number of counts ot forgery for-gery that occurred Saturday and Monda, in sums ranging from $5 and up, and It Is estimated by local bankers that checks have been presented for payment aggregating aggre-gating SS0 or 590. Tho llllc girl started out Saturday by forging a check on Dr. Richard A. Pearso of this city for ?5. She wrote the check. Indorsed the name of Frank Bowrln'g, a harness dealer, then signed her own name and cashed the check in the store of Christensen &. Knudson. by purchasing an Interurhan ticket to Ogden. The girl boarded a car for Ogden, and being familiar with her game, proceeded to do shopping on her arrival in the junction junc-tion cltv. It was here that most of the checks "on Bingham business men wero drawn and cashed. That the girl issued a number of checks Is evident from tho fact that the checks were of $5, ?1 and $15 denominations. She provided herself with a check book on .the First National bank and tho State bank of this city. The girl has been at the game before, and her method of securing cash for her worlhlcss checks Is by purchasing a bill of goods at each plnce she enters and leaving tho place with the good3 besides sumo cash. Valeria Blddle, who was accused of forgeries for-geries last November, is sought by the authorities. At that time the girl was arrested and only the pleadings of her parents and the promises of the girl to be good saved her from prosecution. Joe Lillywhite and tho sheriff worked on the case and traced the girl from Ogden Og-den to I.osan. Reports from Iogan state that a girl was arrested Ihero upon advice ad-vice from the officers here, and that she had about 530 in cash In her possession besides a great deal of expensive wearing apparel. |
