Show FRANCHISE WANTED III 1U FORK Evans-Chipman People and Jesse Knight Each Present Petitions. Special to The Tribune. AMERICAN FORK, Feb. 2. Two petitions peti-tions have been presented to tho city council, through the city recorder's office, of-fice, for tho right to operate and maintain main-tain an electric railway throughout the city limits of this place. Tho first petition presented was from a company of which the following were signers: Abel John Evans of Lehl, Stephen I.,. Chipman of this city, William Wil-liam II. Hayes of Pleasant Grove, J. J. Cramer, Provo bench; S. S. Jones, David D. Beebe. W. H. Brerton. Arthur Taylor and J. D. Dixon of Provo: H. T. Rcnolds of Sprlngvllle, Henry Gardner of Spanish Fork and James McBoth, J. S. Page and George C. Whitman of Payson. Tho second petition was from Jesse Knight of Provo. Both petitions will come before the regular meeting of tho city council Saturday evening. It Is taken that both applications will be granted, but the terms of tho franchises will receive considerable attention, and a suitable remuneration will bo required. The majority of tho pcoplo of this city appear to favor Mr. Knight. |
