Late last night it was reported from Bingham that two men, apparently nearly near-ly exhausted, entered a saloon at that place and asked the bartender for a. drink, saving they had no money and adding that they had walked a long distance dis-tance and were unable to proceed lurthor unless they could secure a. stimulant Tho bartender at first refused to givn them the drinks, but later, believing them to bo in sore need of lluuor, relented relent-ed and acceded to their appeals In the meantime tho bartender noticed thut the hand of one of the men had been bleeding from a wound. At an early hour this morning, however, the men had not been located. The killing of Sandercock was a most brutal affair. It was apparent from the position of the dead body of Sandercock that, he hail put up a desperate light before be-fore he was overcome and killed by IiIh assailants. Sandercock had been struck over the head a number of times with a. heavy Implement probably a railroad track liammer. One bullet had passed through his left arm, penetrated the body, and was found lodged in the skin on the right side, under the armpit. Another bullci had struck him in tho right cheek and emerged at a point Just below the left car. Sixty Cents Slayers' Reward. As a reward for their deed the robbers rob-bers obtained UO cents from the cash register. reg-ister. The remaining money in tho store had been securely hidden by .Sandercock and was nol found by the robbers. Upon entering the grocery department with the intention of awakening Sandercock, Sander-cock, who slept there and whom Candland Cand-land believed had overslept, Candland was confronted by a grewsome sight. On the floor, near the counter and at the foot of an unoccupied bed. lay Sandercock's body. The head and tho shoulders were In a mass of blood and bullet holes in the face and body showed In what manner death had Overtaken the manager of the store. Evidence of Struggle, In, the immediate vicinity of th bed were evidences of a. struggle. Articles were overturned and near the body of the dead man was found his revolver, fully loaded with cartridges, which had nol been died. From the position of the body and the disturbed condition of the room, it was evident that Sandercock had been attacked at-tacked while yet in bed. It Is probable that he was struck on the head wlt'n some heavy implement in the hands of one of the robbers and that he had Jumped from tho bed and engaged the robbers in a scui'lle. It appears that he-was he-was then shot through the body and i finally shot through the head. An examination, of the exterior of the store showed that the robbers had climbed .upon a pile of packing cases at the rear of . the store building -and broken in the transom over the rear door. They then saw that the door was not fastened with bars. They unlocked the door with a skcloton key and entered the meat "department "de-partment of the store. Sandercock slept on a cot In the grocery gro-cery department. It Is believed that the robbers crept up lo tho cot on which Sandercock was sleeping and struck him over tho. head, but I hat the blow did not crush his skull. Then the manager of the store Jumped from ills col, it Is thought, and engaged the robbers. Evidence of six revolver shots was found. Of tho four bullets which did" not take effect In the body of Sandercock, one was found Indued in tho celling of the sitorc. anothor hit a roll of paper on tlu countor, another bullet lodged In a box of merchandise and another was found imbedded in the tloor.
