the uit first day of december 1880 1886 the total amount of 0 anch coinage wits wag the director of 0 the mint reports at the abo time of the be passage of 0 the law lavy of 1878 directing this coinage tie the intrinsic int nasio value of 0 the dollars thus coined was ninety bourand one oae fourth cents each and that on the thirty first day ot of july 1886 tho price ot of silver reached reich edthe the lowest stage ever known so that the intrinsic or bul bullion lion price ot of our silver dollar at that dato date was less than seventy two cents the price ot of silver on the thirtieth et ef november last was waa such as to make tho the doll dollars ars intrinsically i worth 78 centa each those these differences in in the value of 0 the coins represent the of the price of
