Show JAPAN WILL HELP FILL OUR AMERICAN MUSEUMS NEW YORK. June 7. Japan will make the American museum of natural history a present of six whale skeletons. Four of them are now bound for this port by way of the Suez canal and will be received re-ceived next month. Two more will be dispatched Just as soon as thc whales arc caught The first consignment consists of skeletons skele-tons of a "sulphur bottomed" whale, .seventy-eight feet In length, another variety forty-six feel long, and a pair of small "killer" whales from twenty-five to twenty-seven feet In length. The museum mu-seum expects to obtain also a sperm whalo and a "hunchback." of which varieties va-rieties It at present has no specimens. |
