Show BIG COPPER INTERESTS GOING TO EUROPE Mflny are wondering: what is the significance signifi-cance of tho exodus of big copper men to Europe at this time. Some profess to believe be-lieve that some sort of an agreement between be-tween tho warring elements In copper-dom copper-dom is in process of consummation, while others do not believe there Is any inclination inclina-tion on tho part of the different factors In the situation to get together. A trip to Europe doc3 not necessarily moan business, but with the markets In their present demoralled condition, and with the continual cry for relief from Industrial In-dustrial and copper Interests, tho fact that the. big fellows are gathering in Europe looks Interesting, to say tho least. John D. Ryan, president or the Amalgamated Amalga-mated Copper company, left a few days ago for tho other side, and now eastern reports have It that Charles M MacNelU Is preparing to sail, Mr. MacNelU being president of the T.'tah Copper company. Among the other promlnmt copper folks abroad are V D Thornton and Urban Broughton, both ldentiiied with the Amalgamated Amal-gamated Interests and tho International Smelting nnd Iteflnlng company. There are those who maintain that no agreement relative to copper can be effected ef-fected unless European capital is involved in-volved with American money. The foreign for-eign copper surplus is even more of a factor In the current uneasiness than the domestic supply, because it Is mere easily concealed. One thing hard to understand un-derstand Is why America should rejoice over the exports of copper at the present time. Exports reduce the domestic supply, sup-ply, but Europe buys the copper at the present very low price only to hold It and tnrow It back to tho American consumer con-sumer when the. market price increases. It mav be, therefore, that movement Is on foot between the American and European copper Interests to reach some definite understanding but to a person on the fence It would appear aa difficult to get the foreign circles to combine with the American as it evidently has been for tho American interests to get together Judging the future from the past, the American crowd should have easier sailing sail-ing with the foreign copper interests than the opposite side. All ho far, of course is conjecture, but the situation Is Interesting Interest-ing to say the least. San Francisco Mining Stocks. SAN FRANCISCO, June 22.
