Show iHighlandBoyJ I i Bringing significant inspiration inspira-tion was the Easter pageant, "The Challenge of the Cross", which was presented Sunday evening to an appreciative audience audi-ence at the Highland Boy Community Com-munity House. Taking the lead was Miss Katherine Valdez, who was supporaed by the following: Mrs. M. Martin, Mrs. M. Cleaves, Mrs. Frank Rubalcava, Mrs. Clark, Mrs. G. Smilanich and Miss Ann Muhar. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Knsovieh of Dines, Montana, and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Kosovich of Bingham were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Yengich. Florence Austin, student at the University of Utah, was a week end visitor at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Austin. Saturday the Misses Katie Yengich, Irma Sponga and Ruby Yengich, accompanied by Marko Yengich, spent the day visiting Miss Dorothy Koncar of Salt Lake City, formerly of Highland Fifty-six youngsters attended. Each class of the Highland Boy school enjoyed an Easter party in its respective room Thursday. Games and light refreshments were welcomed by students. Mrs. George Smilanich, P.-T. A. president, has called a P.-T.A. business meeting to be held Tuesday Tues-day at 1:30 p. m. at the Highland Boy school. Everyone interested is cordially invited to attend. The Rev. C. E. Hogan of the Holy Rosary Catholic church conducted an anniversary mass for John Patrick, son of Mrs. Marsha Patrick, at her home in Highland Boy Monday. Attending Attend-ing the mass were Mrs. Joe Ko-pesic, Ko-pesic, Mrs. Eli Church, Mrs. Mike Yengich, Mrs. Matt Pazell, Mrs. Martin Pechina, Mrs. Peter Kosovich. Koso-vich. After services a light luncheon was served. This evening at seven o'clock a Good Friday service will be held at the Community House. A prelude by Miss Marie Button But-ton will be followed by a Hymn Sing. On the program are: a solo, "The Stranger of Galilee", by Alice Brown; a play, "Seven Words From the Cross", by the Misses Alice Brown, Marie Button, But-ton, Anna Muhar, Katherine Valdez Val-dez and Ada Duhiiie: art studies of Christ's last week on earth, to be shown on the screen. On Easter Sunday at the Community Com-munity House the church school will be at 10:00 a. m. Easter evening ev-ening worship service begins at 7 p. m. The program for the later includes an anthem, "Above The Hills of Time", by the junior music mu-sic club; a chorus, "Sweet and Clear The Birds Are Singing", by the Harmony club; a message, "The Risen Lord Is With You Today", by Miss Ada Duhigg; a play, "The Bread of Tears", with Miss Alice Brown and Miss Marie Button taking the two roles. Boy. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mullet and children visited Mrs. Mullet's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sid Tregas-kis, Tregas-kis, during the week end. Sid Tregaskis Jr., a student at the U. S. A. C. at Logan, spent the wrck end at the home of his parents. The Questers and Queen Esthers Esth-ers delighted the children of the first, second and third grade and the kindergarten youngsters at sn Easter party Wednesday at 3:30 p. m. at the Community House. In charge of the social activities were the Misses Ann Muhar, Magdaline Mayo, Katie Yengich and Katherine Valdez. The eggs were colored by the Questers and presented to each guest by the Easter bunny. An Easter theme was carried out in the games and refreshments. |
